Our Chef Robert comes with 25 years of experience in the food industry from running hotels to opening award-winning restaurants. Here is his culinary repertoire.
"I grew up chasing the smell of braised rabbit with barley emanating from my grandmother’s kitchen in England.
I started working in restaurants when I was 14 years old. At 16, I left home to begin a five-year apprenticeship with the Savoy Group in London as part of a Thames Valley University program, and volunteered by night at Jean-George Vongerichten’s Vong restaurant in the Berkeley, the hotel where I apprenticed.
Following a few gigs after graduation, I migrated to the highlands of Scotland to work at the self-sustaining award-winning Monachyle Mhor Hotel and then across the pond to the Keltic Lodge Resort & Spa on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. since 2003 I have worked as executive chef at numerous hotels and resorts in Atlantic Canada, one of my greatest achievements of my career was when I opened up a restaurant in Halifax Nova Scotia called Edna which I gained the award as top ten restaurants in Canada and also appeared on Masterchef Canada as one of Canadas most influential young chefs, I migrated to New Brunswick for work and I had started my own catering business called backwoods wild foods where I catered events with the wild foods I enjoyed to harvest. Me and my wife and our 2 year old are now settled in Windsor and I am driven by my passion for food and love for cooking to provide you with an unforgettable culinary experiences.
